XXVI September Fascist district group

How fascist organisations helped the city

Just like the other groups in the city, the XXVI September Fascist district group also had an anti-aircraft protection team, which had been set up and trained since 1940. The first intervention teams was called upon to assemble immediately after air raids and support the work of the UNPA teams and the Fire Brigade.

In the headquarters of the district group, tools and equipment were kept for the members of the teams to dig through the rubble, rescue the citizens and get the city back to life. The district group also housed a medical first aid station, which worked in liason with the Red Cross Committee, and was equipped to provide the city with the necessary medical care after air raids, during which shrapnel, rubble and explosions caused a large number of injuries.
